Amazing night out at London – my birthday surprise at Duck & Waffle

Do you like surprises? What about night out at London?

I knew I was getting a treat for my birthday….everything what I needed to do before was to buy a dress for a night out.

I was getting very exited….no kids…….my mum was babysitting…but where I was going?

A DATE started at DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel London -Tower of London.

Location of the hotel is fantastic. We got a train from Petersfield to London Waterloo and then underground. The hotel is about 2 minutes walk from the tube station. There is also a few minutes walk to tower bridge and the Tower of London.

My husband booked an amazing restaurant Duck & Waffle for the evening which is on 40th floor of 230 metres tall skyscraper in London –  The Heron Tower.

There were two fire cylinders outside with a guy letting people in. He sang me Happy Birthday when we were checking in……..

Then we went  inside and took the glass elevator with a stunning view up to the restaurant on the 40th floor.

Fabulous experience! We arrived a little bit earlier …that was the plan! so we had some cocktails by the bar which looks like a buffet station in the middle. The drink menu is really cool….I had POLLEN…..a drink made from prosecco, elderflower and sherry….my husband OLD FASHIONED COCKTAIL.

We started with smoked eel.

 

For the main ordered their signature dish The duck and waffle and  also Miso glazed rabbit – recommended !

 

 

Both dishes were absolutely beautiful. To finish we had BAKED ALASKA: honey ice cream, thyme and lemon jam, buckwheat cream.

The whole place is amazing… We took some photos with the view  of the Gherkin tower and the city in the background.

 

 

Our date was incredible.

I loved  it so much so definitely be returning……

I would like more surprises like this…..
